Self-Realization Fellowship was founded in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda to introduce to people of all races, cultures, and creeds the ancient science and philosophy of Yoga and its time-honoured methods of meditation, amongst which Kriya Yoga is the highest form.
Amongst the variety of sources of information about Paramahansa Yogananda, the Self-Realization Fellowship is the organization, which Paramahansa Yogananda personally authorized to disseminate his teachings in order to preserve the original power and authenticity of his universal message for future generations.
Over the years, SRF has grown and, under the guidelines of its headquarters in Los Angeles, meditation groups everywhere in the world have been established, where students of Paramahansa Yogananda's teachings meet for inspirational and prayer services, meditation, supporting each other spiritually, and practising the various techniques which Paramahansa
Yogananda has passed on in the SRF Lessons.
The Lessons cover the meditation techniques and Energization Exercises taught by Paramahansa Yogananda. In addition they give practical advice in order to understand and practice the in-depth path of yoga.
